Finding Grace Within the Storm
Cultivating awareness of your inner infrastructure requires a strong neutral mind.. this self awareness is a superpower and is essential. This is the “observer” within that integrates and balances input from the positive and negative functions of the mind. With this awareness we become acquainted with how we respond to life events, stressors and changes (positive or negative). Regardless of how the changes are perceived, there is always a choice that determines whether we will ride the wave or get swept into the throes of the current.
Some of us may cope with lower levels of stress by going into hunter or gathering mode, while others may seek connection and bonding. For higher levels of stress that are more difficult to cope with through the social engagement system, we may shut down, isolate, or freeze as a last resort to protecting ourselves, and that is ok. That’s the beauty and intelligence of our wiring and it’s to be respected for the value it has.
The important thing to be mindful of is that we keep our solar plexus balanced to ignite our sense of personal power and maintain an open heart. When we are threatened it’s common to close our hearts and contract out of self preservation, but the courage needed to face our triggers and avoid going into shut down resides within the courage of an open heart center. A deficient or blocked solar plexus chakra can leave us with a feeling of powerlessness and a weak will.
